Yes! Parents today, generally, are way too protective of their kids' feet. Ad if the kids need shoes, and if you can afford it, http://www.vivobarefoot.com/us/ is the way to go! Barefoot rules.

The shoes belong here and barefoot kids belong in the forest.

Whereas I completely missed the 31 Heroes CrossFit WOD yesterday, I did a first: ran my first 5K on the road. To veteran runners, I'm sure my time (32:29) is stupid slow, but I didn't walk the full 3 mies. This is a huge deal for me. When I started CrossFit and paleo almost 2 years ago, a 400 meter run killed me. Mind you, I still absolutely hate running, but I'm reminded again and again to work on your "goats", or you exercises you aren't very good at. Running definitely qualifies.

Next year, no excuses for the 31 Heroes. It's a partner WOD, so hopefully partner with  my wife, too! More information: http://www.31heroes.com/

Every time I read something new from Tracker Earth, I get more and more impressed. This post underlines the importance of food in family and community, a concept near and dear to the heart of the Paleo community as well. http://trackerspdx.com/blog/posts/2013/07/18/food_community
